It’s Game Time!
Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day.
The Brandywine Creek Democrats have been hard at work canvassing, phone banking, notifying voters of defective mail-in ballots, and chasing ballots that have not been returned. We owe a huge thanks to all our amazing volunteers in East & West Bradford and East Fallowfield. Well done!
Now it’s your turn – help us elect an outstanding slate of Democratic Party candidates. Vote for Dems (the first name on the ballot in each race) up and down the ballot. You’ll be voting to move us forward, not take us back. You’ll be voting for experience, for progress, for empathy, and for a better Chester County and country.
Our Committeepersons and amazing volunteers will be manning the Dem tables outside on Election Day. Please stop and say hi and pick up a sample ballot; you can also download one here. The Poll Greeters can help with any questions you have about the voting process or this year’s candidates and races. You may be confident to know that we will also have certified poll watchers inside to monitor the voting and look for disruptive, illegal activity to report to the Chester County Democrats’ legal election response team.
And in case you are still on the fence about the presidency, here’s a great closing message from Kamala Harris.
See you Tuesday (unless you’ve already voted.)
Important message from Brandywine Creek Dems Zone Leader Jenn Fenn
I’m sure I don’t need to remind everyone of the importance of this year’s Presidential Election. In addition to electing Kamala Harris & Tim Walz (and saving democracy), we will be working to re-elect our senior US Senator Bob Casey and Chester County’s own Chrissy Houlahan to the US House of Representatives.
Democrats hold the slimmest of majorities (102-101) in the state House and need to gain three state Senate seats to have the majority there. That would enable state government to finally solve some of the real problems of the Commonwealth that Republicans refuse to address. These include real support for public education, addressing gun safety, climate and environment action, and guaranteeing reproductive freedoms.
I can assure you that Republicans are going to fight hard for every seat; as a ‘swing state’, Pennsylvania is in the forefront of the Presidential race as well as control of Congress. We’ve already seen what promises to be a tsunami of Republican negative attack ads – because when your candidates and policies are so bad and out of step they can’t find new voters, they must instead turn voters to hate Democrats.
And when Republican candidates can’t win fairly, their only hope (like with the ‘Big Lie’ in 2020) is to cloud elections with confusion and uncertainty and hope to cheat their way to victory. We must not let that happen. Donald Trump and Republicans are recruiting 100,000 ‘Election Integrity’ poll watchers, poll workers, and poll judges, holding in-person and virtual training sessions in Pennsylvania. There is little doubt these ‘MAGA Patriots’ will claim, without evidence, voting irregularities sufficient to delay election results and take these lies all the way to the extreme right Supreme Court.
This is where we need your help. We must not only work for massive turnout here in Chester County to build irrefutable win margins, but we must also find volunteers for poll watching and vote count monitoring to ensure that, when taken to courts, wild Republican claims and lies are defeated by evidence and our own monitoring.
Please consider volunteering to work on Election Day (or night) for real election integrity. You can sign up here and we will work with you for training and scheduling.
