Results of June 2, 2020 Primary Election

East & West Bradford (nine precincts)

Voters in East and West Bradford turned out in huge numbers for the Presidential Primary, indicating – with enthusiasm – that they have a strong interest in electing Joe Biden the 46th President of the United States, marking Donald Trump a one-term failure. Voters also want to re-elect Rep. Chrissy Houlahan to the US House (retaining a majority) and Rep. Christina Sappey to the PA State Legislature, flipping majority control there. The enthusiasm was evident as we crushed the Republicans in turnout across our nine precincts – Democratic turnout ranged from 47% – 60% with an average of 53.02%, while Republicans turnout ranged from 29% – 35%, with an average of 33.36%. Let’s keep that Blue Wave rolling in November!

We also see that voters now understand the importance of having a Democratic State Attorney General to protect residents from heartless, unfair and often ridiculous Republican policies coming from the current White House that affect our citizens – and to provide equal and fair justice to everyone. And of holding State Row Offices for the Treasurer and Auditor General to protect state resources and residents, and so are proud to again place Josh Shapiro (AG) and Joe Torsella (Treasurer) on the ballot along with Nina Ahmad for Auditor General.

Overall in Chester County, the trend was vote Democratic, and Vote by Mail:

Ballots Cast – DEMOCRATIC: 74,500
Election Day votes 18,159; Vote-by-Mail 56,341

Ballots Cast – REPUBLICAN: 48,163
Election Day votes  27,502; Vote-by-Mail 20,661

Key dates for 2020:

  • To register to vote in (or change your party affiliation before) the November 3 General Election, click here. Deadline to register to vote is October 19 .
  • Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot is October 27.
  • Last day for Chester County Board of Elections to receive voted mail-in and civilian absentee ballots (must be received by 8:00 P.M.) is November 3.

Pennsylvania Senate District 19:     Carolyn Comitta (currently serving in PA House of Representatives, District 156) – this seat is currently held by Sen. Andy Dinniman, who is retiring.
