The Brandywine Creek Democrats, based in Chester County, Pennsylvania, is a grassroots, progressive organization committed to building a stronger future for all our citizens. Originally formed in 2004, we have expanded to include East & West Bradford and most recently East Fallowfield Township Democrats. We are people from many different backgrounds, culturally and religiously diverse, but our commonality is that we all share an interest in working together, where we live, to change and improve the social and political climate of our community.
We recruit and support qualified Democratic candidates at all levels in advancing progressive Democratic platforms in our area and beyond. Our meetings take place on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. Any registered Democratic voter in the region is encouraged to attend.
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to encourage voter participation by educating and empowering our citizens to get involved in the political process. Through social activism, innovative communication and outreach programs, we inform the community about local issues and candidates, and work to increase voter turnout. We support the election of Democratic candidates who share our goals and reflect our ideals while maintaining a focus on human rights, the environment and our future.
Every year the organization makes a donation to Camp Linden, located on the Brandywine Creek in West Bradford Township, near West Chester. It provides an experience for inner-city children that promotes appreciation of nature, teaches the intrinsic worth of all human beings, and encourages campers to develop self-reliance, integrity and ethical relationships. Camp Linden is owned and operated by the Philadelphia Ethical Society.
